ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and affects between 8% and 9% of adolescents in America. Contrary to many people’s prior knowledge ADD and ADHD are actually the same thing! ADD in the past had been known as Attention Deficit Disorder but as more information had been discovered regarding how ADD affected people, it was renamed ADHD. People who suffer from ADHD find it hard to concentrate on one particular objective and may exhibit difficulty maintaining self-control for a prolonged period of time.

ADHD is a neurological disorder, and while you may never grow out of it, here are some ways to minimize its effects on your life:

Build a routine! While ADHD tends to make you lose focus, building a routine and consistent schedule helps rule out any possible distractions that may appear throughout everyday life

Medication, If you have been formally diagnosed with ADHD and qualify for medication, it is one of the surefire methods of managing ADHD symptoms. Very Important: be sure to inform your physician of any side effects you experience.

A full night’s rest. Getting a full night's sleep can seriously help to calm your body and prepare yourself for a successful day. Individuals with ADHD also may experience difficulty sleeping which is why you should keep this in mind and plan your schedule accordingly!
