Insomnia
Insomnia has many different causes and can affect an individual in many different ways, several of which are preventable and/or treatable. Insomnia is a disorder that causes your brain to lack the ability to produce hormones to let you rest. some possible causes of insomnia include chemical imbalances, extreme anxiety, or past traumatic experiences. While at face value insomnia may seem to be relatively harmless, the health issues that commonly follow insomnia can cause illness, issues regarding short-term memory loss, and to some extent even death.
Here are some methods to help manage insomnia:
Use a strict Sleep Schedule, By enforcing yourself to stick to a regular sleep schedule and give yourself a specific time where you are ready to sleep your body can adjust over time.
Limit Stimulant substances, Trying to reduce your intake of substances that are stimulants such as alcohol and caffeine can potentially help your body naturally wind down and rest at the end of the day!
Exercise Regularly, Exercise uses energy and causes your body to require more sleep. Understanding how exercising affects your energy levels and utilizing this to help benefit your sleep schedule can be very effective in improving your sleep schedule.
